At Tushka Ohoyo Adams-Davies, we stand for more than just recovery. We stand for transformation. We stand for second chances. We stand for hope. Founded by Dr. Ana Y. Davies and David Milton Davies Jr., our organization is rooted in the belief that everyone, no matter how far they have fallen, deserves the opportunity to rise again. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that fights on the frontlines of addiction, trauma, incarceration, and homelessness, providing those who have been overlooked by society the chance to embrace recovery and rebuild their lives.
Dr. Ana Y. Davies:
A Warrior for Change
Dr. Ana Y. Davies is the embodiment of resilience, having transformed a life of unimaginable hardship into one of leadership and empowerment. Born into a rich cultural blend of Hispanic, African American, and Native American heritage, Ana’s early life was a battle. A mother at 14, entangled in gang life, addicted, and imprisoned multiple times, Ana faced societal labels that tried to define her. But she refused to be broken.
In 2008, a pivotal moment in a prison cell changed her course forever. Released into a residential treatment program, Ana began to rebuild her life. Fueled by her experiences, she pursued her education relentlessly, earning degrees and certifications, including a Ph.D. in Public Health. Now a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC III & ICADC) and Certified Clinical Supervisor, Ana is not just a survivor—she is a leader in the fight against addiction, homelessness, and trauma.
Ana’s journey is a testament to the power of embracing recovery. She uses her lived experiences, combined with her academic expertise, to lead with compassion and strength, offering others the same chance she once fought for.
David Milton Davies Jr.:
A Life Reclaimed Through Recovery
David Milton Davies Jr.’s story is one of redemption, recovery, and relentless dedication to helping others do the same. Born into a life filled with trauma, David lost his mother to domestic violence and his father to alcoholism. Like Ana, he too faced the crushing grip of addiction and incarceration, serving four prison terms. But in 2008, David made the choice to embrace recovery and turn his life around.
Since then, David has dedicated himself to helping others navigate the same dark paths he once walked. With over 15 years of experience and a certification as a Registered Drug Technician (RADT), David is a powerful advocate for those battling addiction and homelessness. His ability to connect deeply with individuals, share his story, and offer guidance from a place of lived experience makes him a beacon of hope for those in the darkest of places.
In 2008, David met Ana during his own recovery journey. Their partnership, both in life and in mission, has created an unstoppable force for change. Together, they founded Tushka Ohoyo Adams-Davies, a symbol of the power of second chances and the strength of embracing recovery.
At Tushka Ohoyo Adams-Davies, we believe recovery is not just about breaking free from addiction—it’s about embracing a new way of life. It’s about healing trauma, building self-worth, and empowering individuals to reclaim their future. Our mission is to:
